HVO vs GTL - Which should you choose?
Deciding which fuel is best for you and your business has several factors in which need to be considered prior to the changeover to HVO or GTL.

Both GTL and HVO have their pro’s and con’s which have been outlined below. What most people do not know is that both fuels also have the potential to cause pump and generator failures that can cause major issues later down the line.
These issues are due to the corrosive properties both fuels pose to seals, pumps and generators, subsequently older facilities/equipment may find issues with their equipment.
This is where SDM Fuel Solutions specialised knowledge and services can help identify equipment that needs updating with Viton seals or are better suited to HVO or GTL inline with businesses drivers.
Whichever greener fuel you decide SDM Fuel Solutions will help you through the transition and ongoing management of the fuel.

FAQ's
Do my fuel lines need to be drained and clean before the transition?
This question is asked regularly and, it all depends on the amount of contamination within the existing fuel. The only way in which we can determine this is by completing a technical survey. This will show us the amount fuel contamination and will also tell us if the existing fuel tank is compatible with Enzyme Energy HVO.
What is a technical survey?
A technical survey is an in depth analysis of the entire fuel system(s). A technical survey is completed by one of our specialists at SDM Fuel Solutions, it enables us to analyse the quality of the fuel inside the tank and the condition of the fuel tank before replacing the existing fuel with Enzyme Energy HVO.
Why do you need a technical survey completed?
A technical survey is needed to show compatibility between the fuel system and Enzyme Energy HVO. Some fuel systems may need updating if the current system is not compatible. Another reason for completing a technical survey is to assess the amount of contamination, if any, present in the existing fuel.
Can Enzyme Energy HVO be mixed with existing fuel?
The answer to this question is yes however, at SDM Fuel Solutions we believe that from a technical perspective, the fuel should not be mixed without making the necessary amendments to the fuel system. This is because overtime, it could cause damage to the infrastructure. We believe that by removing existing fuel, thoroughly cleaning the tank, making the necessary amendments and then replacing the existing fuel with Enzyme Energy HVO works significantly better in the long run.
Can Enzyme Energy HVO be mixed with Enzyme Energy GTL?
The answer to this question is yes however, at SDM Fuel Solutions we believe that from a technical perspective, the fuel should not be mixed together. This is because once the two fuels are mixed, you will be unable to trace the fuel inside your tank.
What is Jetstream?
Jetstream is our innovative tank cleaning system. This is advised to be installed after the changeover to Enzyme Energy HVO as it is guaranteed to prevent fuel contamination.
